Dear Skyline Falcon Band Students and Parent(s)/Guardian(s):
Welcome to the 2018-2019 Skyline High School Falcon Band! We are so pleased that you will be joining us for the next chapter of exciting music making and experiences. Planning for the upcoming year is already underway and we look forward to continuing the tradition of excellence and spirit of collaboration.
As the new Director of Bands of Skyline Falcon Band, I have included a short bio on this website to help you get to know me. My combined experiences as a high school band/orchestra director and collegiate professor have fueled my passion to create inspiring musical and artistic experiences for our students. I also seek opportunities to invite the community into our classroom and become a central part of the culture of Longmont. I am sure there will be many questions about the program and myself, but rest assured I will work tirelessly to fulfill the expectations of the Skyline Falcon Band tradition.
Parents are always welcome and are encouraged to become as involved as possible in the success of the program. We are looking for a strong support group from our parents as chaperones, fundraisers, office aids, and more! You play a vital role in the music education of your child, any time you can give will only make us stronger.
Parent and Student Meeting: August 13, 2018 6:30 p.m. Skyline High School Bandroom
Students, I invite you to bring your suggestions along with a positive attitude. This is your program and your experience. The Skyline Falcon Band is a reflection of your dedication, commitment and passion for music making. Please take a few minutes to acquaint yourself with our website with special attention to our handbook and calendar. As this is a work in progress, the calendar will continue to evolve as the year does. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at [email protected].
I am thrilled to be part of this program and look forward to meeting each and every one of you. Together I know we will make this year one of the highlights of your high school experience!
Musically yours,
Dr. Ingrid Larragoity-Martin
